Awards
Ceremony
Salam
Brothers,
The season going to be over soon!
Inshallah you've all made the most of it, making new
friends and generally enjoying the whole experience
of the league.
As always, there will be an award ceremony where the
winners of the league will be announced and prizes
will be given for the winners of the individual categories.
The ceremony will take place Friday 4th May
at the Manchester Islamic Institute (opposite
Sugden) at 8pm sharp and will be followed by
food!
This has proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable and fun
event in the past, so please do come.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Volunteers
Needed
Salam,
Inshallah you've all enjoyed the football this season....we've
tried our best!!
As most of you know, this league is setup and run
purely by volunteers from our youth. We need help
from normal people like you to keep this league running
and to improve it.
If anyone is interested in helping out then please
contact us at football@ius.org.uk or speak
to one of the organisers.
All help would be greatly appreciated from overall
organisation, website maintenance, graphics, refereeing
and general helping out on the day.
If we can get enough new volunteers, this may create
the potential to expand the league so do please get
in contact!
May Allah reward you for your deeds.
Thank you
Wasalam
ATTENTION:
DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS TAKEN
Due to some recent incidents of un-islamic conduct,
the disciplinary committee have taken the following
actions:
-One player has been FULLY BANNED for the remainder
of the football league. This is due to completely
unacceptable behaviour ON AND OFF the pitch.
-Two players have received yellow cards for un-islamic
conduct. Again this applies to both on and off the
pitch
We all have an individual responsibility to make sure
that we behave in the correct manner. This is an islamic
football league. We are carrying the banner of islam
when we're at that sports centre and have a duty to
live up to it. Our actions and behaviour must reflect
the fact that we are muslims and so violent and angry
comments including swearing, from individuals is totally
unacceptable and will be dealt with strictly.
Inshallah this will not be the case.
24/11/06:
IMPORTANT - GENERAL CONDUCT
In recent weeks, the level and atmosphere of play
has become somewhat rougher and less freindly. This
is totally unacceptable and un-Islamic. This league
is meant to be an opportunity to make new friends,
play football and have fun.
It is totally unacceptable to heckle other players/teams.
This is un-islamic and any of this type of misconduct
will be subject to disciplinary action.
Please
remember why we are here. We all want to win, but
Islamic conduct and good sportsmanship must be our
top priority. Please contribute to the friendly atmosphere
that its meant to be!!!
Updated site and Assistant Refs
-Assistant refs: Due to controversy on the decisions
of refs at times, some games will have an assistant
ref who can clarify situations where needed. There
will not always be one but where possible, inshallah
there will.
-Site Updates!: If you havn't already seen, there
have been some recent updates to the site. The media
section is now online (photos, videos, graphics- all
continuously updated). Also, why not write some lyrics or make some graphics for your team?
Player/Goalie
of the Month
4 weeks of football have now passed so its time to
vote for your player and goalie of the month. To vote,
please email footall@ius.org.uk with subject title
"player of the month", leaving your name,
your team and the name of one player and one goalie
who you want to vote for. YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR ANYONE
ON YOUR OWN TEAM. The deadline for voting is Thursday
30th November. Any votes after this date will not
be counted. The winner will be displayed on the site.
18/10/06:
IMPORTANT - IUS MEMBERSHIP CHECKS
Salam,
I'm sure your all waiting and raring this friday and
inshallah you'll have a good time. As you already
know, we are being very strict about ius memberships
this year. You have to be a member to play. Each week,
we will be checking to see if players are members
before you can enter the sports center. YOU WILL NOT
BE ALLOWED INTO THE CENTRE IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER!!
We have a list of all players registered to the league
and their membership status which we will be checking
upon entry. If you are not a member, we will have
membership forms at hand so make sure you have your
bank details on hand (account name, sort code, account
number and branch). Inshallah we can get this sorted
asap so we can all enjoy the football!!
Thankyou

18/10/06:
IMPORTANT - NEW RULES
Salam.
There have been a few changes to the rules that you
may be used to from last season. Please refer to the
rules section for a full list. Some of the changes
are:
- New Sin Bin Rule: any player who is given a yellow
card must sit out for 2mins, reducing the team to
4 players. The player may then return to the game
after 2mins but will have a yellow card on his record. The
sin binned player cannot be substituted while he is
in the sin bin.
- Disciplinary Committee: Any players who do not keep
to these rules will be referred to the disciplinary
committee who will decide on the fate of that player
in the league. Ignorance of the rules will not be
tolerated.
Thankyou
